Acadian Museum of Erath

The largest Acadian museum in the U.S. with over 5,000 objects preserves and displays material traces of the history and folklore of this region, Featuring exhibits about local Cajun musicians, military, religion, folklore, and traditional lifeways-both domestic skills and traditional outdoor occupation Due to efforts by Warren Perrin on behalf of the Acadians, a Royal Proclamation was signed by Queen Elizabeth II on December 9,2003 acknowledging the wrongs committed during the Acadian deportation of 1755.
